Paint the Gardens 2022 

For 164 years the much-loved Williamstown Botanic Gardens have delighted visitors with its twisting paths, dense shrubberies, elegant trees and cool green lawns. During the period of Covid19, the gardens have been a beautiful sanctuary to the community providing inspiration and solace.

While we don't know what form Paint the Gardens will take in 2022, we have seen a common thread for a theme.

'Solace in the Garden'

We invite artists of all levels to draw inspiration from our Williamstown Botanic Garden or their own garden solace to create a piece of artwork. This can be just a lovely isolation activity to undertake at home or you may wish to enter your work when details are finalised. For inspiration, a collection of  over 800 photographs can be found on our Flickr page.

Entry Conditions

• All work to be original
• All artwork must be 2D and no larger than 55 by 66cm (22 by 26 inches)
• The medium can be pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolour, acrylic, mixed media or oil.
